Series Information
TALBOT COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
(Road Record)
1854-1900
C1910

Series Description
Proceedings in regard to roads, bridges, and public landings as handled by the board of county commissioners under Ch. 220, Acts of 1853, and subsequent legislation. Most records involved petitions to open, alter, or close public roads and to lay out private ones. Documents include petitions, objections, court orders, commissioners returns, surveys and plats, and damage awards to landowners. Entries are arranged chronologically by ending date. Through 1876 the records were numbered consecutively from one to forty six, presumably in reference to a docket maintained by the commissioners. Access available in electronic form derived from the records themselves.
