Series Description
Electronic index to plats in provincial, state, and county records, created from a card index that is not comprehensive. Over time Archives' staff members have prepared index cards when plats were encountered during research. Entries give names of tracts, lots, and individuals; date; nature of the record; and citation. Arranged alphabetically by names of tracts, lots, and individuals. Provides references to the following county records: Worcester County Court (Land Records) in series C2019 and CM1100 and (Land Commissions and Petitions) in series C2034 and CM836; Worcester County Circuit Court (Land Records) in series CM1097; and Somerset County Court (Judicial Record) in series C1774 and CM962. Other references pertain to state agency records: Chancery Court (Chancery Record) in series S517 and SM1, Land Office (Caveat Papers) in series S5 and (Caveat Record) in series S7, and Maryland Survey Papers (Division Plats) in series S65. Most of the plats cited in this index are being scanned within the following series: (Plats from Land Records) C2207 and C2208 and (Land Commissions and Petitions) C2034.
